Echo Park Engagement session | Anitra + Amir

Echo Park is a neighborhood in central Los Angeles, California, and is one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in the area. It’s come a long way from the harsher days of the ‘80’s and ‘90s, and has become known for its trendy local businesses, as well as its popularity with artists, musicians, and creatives. Antria and Amir spent a lot of time around here, and that’s why it, and its beautiful lake, meant so much to them for their engagement session.

Both of them are from Los Angeles, they actually met in Bakerfield working in law and goverment. They found that life wanted to bring them right back home, so after getting engaged in 2024, they decided LA was where they wanted to celebrate. Both UCLA alumni, they plan to hosting their amazing wedding on the campus were they both spent so much time together and moving forward in their careers.

Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing couples in Los Angeles. You get the mix of iconic scenery, natural emotion, and style that makes every session feel different. Echo Park especially has this nostalgic, modern-meets-retro vibe that fits couples like Anitra and Amir perfectly. And the fact that they had so many memories there made the images even more special to them.

From the grit of the streets, to the view of the amazing downtown, it couldn’t have been a more perfect place for them to start their new journey together, and I was so proud to be the one to work with them!
